Florida woman who rode manatee arrested
Remember last month when a woman in Florida was spotted riding a manatee—a violation under the Florida Manatee Sanctuary Act—and then she turned herself in to police? Manatee rider Ana Gloria Garcia-Gutierrez was finally arrested on Saturday on a misdemeanor warrant. …And then she was released on $1,500 bail. The maximum penalty for such manatee harassment is a $500 fine and six months in jail.
So…don’t ride manatees. Unless you think it’s worth a fat fine and potential jail time and a weird blip in your criminal history.
