One of the best manatee photos ever.

There’s some manatee schnoz action in this video from Central Florida News 13 taken at SeaWorld. From the related article:

SeaWorld Animal Care Specialists were given a late Christmas present – a 10-foot-long, 1,000-pound male manatee, delivered by Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission late Monday.
The manatee was rescued from southwest Okeechobee, and is suffering from cold stress.
SeaWorld animal experts said he’s quite lethargic. They are tubing him twice daily – first with water to keep him hydrated, and just today switched to a light gruel filled with calories to fatten him up.

Here’s a selection of manatee merchandise you’ll find at SeaWorld in Orlando.

Plushies! I almost bought one, until I remembered that I’m allergic to dust mites and plush toys are full of them. Even the cute manatee-shaped ones. :(

Another manatee plush. Beanie Baby-esque.

Yes, those are manatee snow globes. TWO KINDS OF THEM.

There are at least three kinds of manatee-themed T-shirts to choose from.

Another kind of plush. It’s part of a series of plush toys that have a hands-and-feet structure so you can dress them up. But manatees don’t really look like that. Do not want.

Not gonna lie: I was mildly tempted to buy this hat.

Manatee pen! There’s no better writing implement for manatee aficionados.

“Manatee Crossing” keychain.

SQUISHED PENNIES. I bought two of them. Totally worth my $1.02.

Holy crap, guys: I HAVE FINALLY SEEN REAL MANATEES.

They are very, very large. And blimp-like. Just like how I feel on the inside.

I went to Orlando two weekends ago for a theme park-filled trip with my mom and brother. We spent an entire day at SeaWorld—and by “entire day” I mean 9 a.m. until 11 p.m. That’s 14 consecutive hours of SeaWorld. Indeed, I’ve gotten my fill for at least the next decade.

Most importantly, here’s a look at the Manatee Rescue exhibit!

Manatee outside

Manatee floating around in the outside pool! Blob-alicious.

MANATEE TANK

GETTIN’ CLOSER.

Blimpy

IT’S LIKE I CAN TOUCH YOUUUU okay not really. I’ll dub thee “Blimpy.”

Manatee butts

Manatee bums. I have seen them.

Hello.

Aw, that whiskery face.

creases

Aw, that creased belly.

statues

And near the entrance, a statue of a baby and its momma. (Or dad. Hm.) The statue of a kid looking down at the manatees seems a bit odd, but whatever.
